Deaf Adult Services in Buffalo, NY, is seeking an experienced, certified sign language interpreter interested in a leadership role within a multifaceted Deaf human service agency covering 8 counties of Western New York. The appropriate candidate should possess RID certification, a background in interpretation and transliteration services, and understand all aspects of interpreter relations. Responsibilities will include screening, evaluating and mentoring of interpreters, monitoring CEU activities and certification, facilitating the Interpreter Training Program (ITP), developing and implementing marketing strategies to expand the program, and overseeing the interpreter assignments and department staff to ensure quality. Must be able to manage tight deadlines, competing priorities and intricacies of supervising a fee for service and contract program as well as maintain trusting rapport with Western New York Deaf community.
